Project Plans  Winter 2012 and Summer 2011

We will install wood efficiency stoves in homes and rebuild houses destroyed by mudslides in May, 2010 in a rural community outside Chichicastenango.

Man at side of StoveThe wood efficiency stoves use only 1/3 the wood of a normal stove or open fire.  They reduce burns, eliminate excessive smoke in the home which reduces upper and lower respiratory problems in the women and children.  Using less wood means there is more time and money in the household budget, which improves health care, family economic standing and school attendance.
